A specific separation distance between airplanes at different flight levels was introduced to fly at more optimum altitudes safely. This phenomenon is known as Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM). Scandlearn created a targeted e-course discussing its advantages and safe flying distances.
Apart from enhancing safety, RVSM saves fuel and reduces air congestion by providing six additional flight levels between 29,000 and 41,000 feet. Airlines must operate by RVSM policies and procedures that apply to the airspace they are flying. Our course is designed to teach flight crew the relevant RVSM requirements and procedures.
Topics Included
- History and purpose
- Approval requirements
- Flight planning and postflight
- Training programs
- RVSM flight procedures, contingency and pre-introduction
- Operator, aircraft and crew
- Special items
Regulatory Compliance
Our course closely follows the EASA regulations but is also suitable for operators complying with other standards globally.
